Severe Weather and Warning Alert Procedures
The Scott County Weather Spotters are activated by the Sikeston Department of Public Safety in Sikeston, when the National Weather Service issues a THUNDERSTORM WARNING and or TORNADO WARNING for Scott County and the surrounding area.
The Advanced Warning Sirens (Tornado Siren) shall be activated if a TORNADO WARNING is issued for Scott County and Vanduser is in the impact path.
If a tornado has been spotted and is moving towards Vanduser the Advanced Warning Sirens
will be activated continuous for three minutes and or until the threat has passed.
The Advanced Warning Sirens are tested every Friday at 12:00 p.m. if weather permits.
NOTE : In the event of SEVERE WEATHER please tune into your local Radio or TV station.
It is highly recommended to buy a NOAA approved Weather Radio.
